Vaneta Becker, R-Evansville (district 78), introduced a bill in the 2001 legislative session for the establishment of the Indiana Animal Friendly Trust license plate. The bill provided for a $25 voluntary annual fee per license plate. Funds accrued from the fee will assist local humane societies with the costs of spaying and neutering services. The 2001 legislative session adjourned April 29. HB 1121 died in in the House Committee on Roads and Transportation before it was heard by the full House.
