PET STERILIZATION LICENSE PLATE BILL

What this bill will do:

  • Creates additional funds ($15 per plate sold in excess of 1000) for spay/neuter programs through citizens voluntarily purchasing the plates.)

  • Disburses monies into jurisdictions based on where the license plate purchasers' vehicles are registered.

  • Allows jurisdications discretion in funding the most appropriate programs for individual community needs.

What this bill will not do:

  • Will not mandate pet sterilization

  • Will not effect existing cat and dog licensing

  • Will not regulate or impose any new burdens on veterinarians.
